Professional Profile

Dr Alaa Addasi studied medicine in The Faculty of Medicine in the University of Jordan. He did his Internal Medicine Residency in the University of Illinois at Chicago, where his research focused on microsatellite instability in radiation induced cancer. He then moved to the University of Minnesota where he did his fellowships in Hematology and Medical Oncology, in addition to his research on the stem cell plasticity of Multipotent Adult Progenitor Cells in the Stem Cell Institute of the same university. He is Triple American Boarded in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology. He returned to Jordan in 2003, where he joined King Hussein Cancer Centre as a Consultant Hematologist and Medical Oncologist, and as the Director of the Lymphoma Service that he established. He has dedicated the last 2 decades of his life to the management and study of Cancer in Jordan, including its epidemiology, pathology, outcomes, survival, and the late complications of cancer patients in the country. In 2016, Dr Addasi initiated his own Hematology, Oncology, Lymphoma, and Survivorship Clinics in Al-Khalidi Medical Plaza, before moving his clinics fully to the Abdali Hospital in the Clemenceau Network.
