Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery

Our experienced team of providers are dedicated to advancing the field of gynecologic surgical techniques and are equipped with advanced technology and equipment.

Minimally invasive surgery includes hysteroscopic, laparoscopic, vaginal and single site surgical approaches, which are associated with quicker recovery, shorter hospital stays, less blood loss and scarring, as well as fewer infections.

Our team is highly trained to offer both medical and surgical options for a variety of benign gynecologic conditions including fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain and ovarian masses.

We value a conservative approach and offer surgical interventions only when indicated and appropriate for:

  • Laparoscopic hysterectomy
  • Laparoscopic removal of benign and malignant tumors
  • Laparoscopic ovarian cystectomy
  • Laparoscopic oophorectomy
  • Laparoscopic myomectomy (removal of uterine fibroids)
  • Laparoscopic repair of pelvic organ prolapses (Laparoscopic sacrocolpexy)
  • Laparoscopic Burch colposuspension for urinary incontinence
  • Laparoscopic excision of endometriosis
  • Hysteroscopic surgery including resection of the fibroid, septum and polyps

Gynecologic Oncology Services

We will soon provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary services covering the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of gynecologic malignancies.

Urogynecology and pelvic floor disorders

Urogynecology is a subspecialty within urology and gynecology that focuses on disorders of the female pelvic floor. Pelvic floor disorders occur when women have weakened pelvic muscles and/or tears in the connective tissue of the pelvic organs. Our consultants in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery provide clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders and other urogynecology conditions including:

  • Pelvic organ prolapse (cystocele, rectocele, enterocele, uterine prolapse, vaginal vault prolapses)
  • Urinary incontinence (stress, urge, mixed, overflow) and loss of bladder control
  • Overactive bladder – frequent or sudden urges to urinate
  • Loss of bowel control
  • Vaginal fistula – abnormal connections between the vagina and nearby organs
  • Urethral diverticulum – abnormalities of the urethra
  • Recurrent urinary tract infections
  • Interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndromes – discomfort related to the bladder and/or urethra
  • Post-surgical complications

We also specialize in the most innovative surgical and non-surgical treatment options for pelvic floor disorders including sling procedures (TVT), as well as vaginal and laparoscopic procedures for pelvic organ prolapse repair, with or without a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus). In addition, we offer pelvic floor physical therapy for a variety of conditions including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

Depending on the diagnosis, an individualized treatment program will be designed to allow our patients to assume an active role in their care. Treatment options may include biofeedback, bladder training, medication to control bladder spasm, medication for urinary tract infection, bulk forming agents, Botox injection, pessary (pelvic support device) use and/or surgery.
