COVID-19 Recovery Clinic

Certain individuals who have recovered from active COVID-19 infection continue to have difficulties in physical, emotional and cognitive functioning. This includes multifaceted lingering health effects and an overall worsened quality of life. Given the novelty of COVID-19, the exact nature of these ongoing health effects remains uncertain.

 

To address these issues, Abdali Hospital has created a multidisciplinary clinic to screen, assess, treat, and provide referrals and resources for patients recovering from COVID-19. These patients will be followed over time in order to address new needs as they emerge. In addition, this clinic will serve to create a registry to accurately track important clinical data for a disease about which little is known.

Initial Assessment Visit

Patient can visit the hospital for the required lab and radiology tests (home visits are also available for blood tests)

Consultation With Our Doctor

Following the diagnostic tests, a one-on-one consultation will be held between the patient and a specialized doctor.

Treatment Plan

Setting the treatment for the patient including any referrals to other medical specialties, physiotherapy, psychology and/or nutrition.

TREATMENT

Pulmonology clinic

If severe pneumonia or PE are suspected.

Psychology / Psychiatry clinic

If the mental health screening reveals abnormalities eg PTSD.

Nutritionist

If malnutrition and or bad eating habits are present.

Nephrology clinic

If Kidney function tests show abnormalities.

Neurology clinic

If any new acute neurological event is suspected.

Gastroenterology clinic

If a complicated ulcer or severe GI complaints are present.

Endocrinology clinic

If metabolic disruption is noted.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation

If muscle atrophy (post hospital admissions/long term bed rest) presents.

Cardiology clinic

If cardiac injury (myocarditis, pericarditis), MI, Afib or new heart failure are suspected.
