Cardiology and cardiac surgery

Our services include care of all aspects of the heart and vascular system, including chest pains (angina), heart attacks (acute coronary syndromes), arrythmias, peripheral vascular conditions such as leg pain and limb ischemia, heart failure and heart valve disorders. • Diagnosis: Electrocardiography (ECG), Echocardiography, Cardiac stress testing, Ambulatory cardiac monitoring (Holter), Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Coronary Computed Tomographic Angiography (CCTA), Coronary Calcium Scoring (CACS), Cardiac MRI, CT Perfusion imaging and Nuclear Cardiac Imaging
• Full service diagnostic vascular lab for arterial and venous systems at our Vascular Unit
• Radial Cardiac Catheterization & Interventions: an alternative way to perform cardiac catheterization via the wrist which reduces complication rates
• Invasive Cardiac Hemodynamic Assessment and Imaging: highly specialized procedures and imaging techniques enabling the cardiologist to diagnose challenging cardiac conditions
• High Risk Coronary Interventions: highly specialized percutaneous interventional procedures for patients who have advanced multivessel coronary artery disease or chronic total occlusion of their coronary arteries and are not suitable for surgical treatments
• Lead extraction program: This procedure saves the lives of patients who develop infections in their implanted devices, using an excimer laser by certified
• Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) device Implantation for atrial fibrillation patients at high risk of stroke and with contraindications to oral anticoagulants. This is performed by our highly specialized and certified team of cardiologists
• High-end arrhythmia ablation electrophysiology lab, considered one of the most advanced systems in the world 
• Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) procedures: minimally invasive procedure offered to certain patients with aortic valve stenosis to avoid open-heart surgery

Thoracic surgery services

Thoracic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with diseases that affect the chest, from the chest wall to the lungs and vital structures located between the lungs (Mediastinum), esophagus and the diaphragm.

This surgical division works in close relation with other medical specialities to help in diagnosis and treatment of chest diseases.

In our division we perform open thoracotomy, the modern VATS procedures (Video Assisted Thoracoscopic surgeries) Multiport, as well as the most advanced minimal invasive surgeries (the Uniport VAT).

Our service includes:

Chest wall

• All cases of trauma related to chest, including modern treatment of flail chest and multiple rib fractures by using rib stabilizers
• Chest wall deformities Nuss Procedure (minimal invasive correction of chest wall deformities)
• Benign and malignant chest wall tumors, resection and reconstruction

Pleura

• All diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for pleural diseases

Lung

• Staging and surgical treatment of lung cancer, working actively with pulmonologists to diagnose
• Treating benign lung diseases like hydatid cyst of the lung and others

Mediastinum

• All diagnostic procedures (Video assisted mediastinoscopy),
• Therapeutic procedures, including multiport and uniportalviagra-50-online-store.comVAT Thymectomy for patients with myasthenia gravis, working with neurologists; and thoracoscopic sympathectomy for patients with hyperhidrosis palmaris, working with dermatologists

Airway

• Rigid bronchoscopy dilatation of tracheal stenosis and tracheal resection for benign tracheal stenosis
  Esophagus
• Treating benign esophageal diseases (Lap Hillers myotomy for achalasia) and types of Esophagectomy for malignant esophageal tumors, working in close relation with the gastroenterology team
