Job Summary
Responsible for all receiving functions and document control
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives, inspects, verifies and accepts all supplies and equipment delivered to the institution.
- Verifies received items against issued purchase orders and checking the cartons conditions against damage
- Accurately processes all necessary paperwork/documentation, such as packing slips, bills of lading, receiving reports, control copies, and logs, so that payments can be authorized.
- Prepares all items for return shipments and coordinating this with the user department and with purchasing.
- Accurately prepares and processes in the ERP System all documentation concerned with receiving by the institution. This includes receiving reports, receipts, return to stock credits, returns to vendors, etc.
- Assist the Clerks in paperwork and filling and maintain store records and files
- Delivers ordered items to the customers’ departments and locations
- Ensures that the Receiving Area is kept clean, dust free, and in compliance with all safety, infection control procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other materials handling equipment
- Adheres to strict filing procedures and to confidentiality of information.
- Ensures compliance with MM department policies and procedures.
- Unloads items that are received at the loading dock
- Assists with other functions as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education
Diploma in Business Administration or any Applied Sciences
Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years working in a similar hospital setting
- Strong knowledge of all medical, surgical and healthcare products
- Strong Knowledge of the use of medical consumables and disposables including specialized items used in the Operating Theaters and Special Procedure Areas,
Preferred
- Previous experience dealing with automated inventory control systems.
