Radiology Technologist/MRI Expertise

Job Summary

The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of complex imaging procedures for medical diagnostic purposes, utilizing all modalities of medical imaging equipment that produces ionizing radiation and magnetic fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform complex medical imaging examinations and procedures for diagnostic purposes, utilizing all modalities of medical imaging equipment including general x-ray, mobile x -ray, dexa scan, operating room radiology in accordance with the standards and policies established by the Employer’s Radiology.
  • Operates multi-slice CT scanners to perform examinations including non-contrast head/abdomen/pelvis studies and Contrast-enhanced studies (IV contrast for angiography, CT urography, oncology protocols)
  • Performs MRI examinations including Neuroimaging, MSK and Abdominal imaging.
  • Ensure patients are correctly identified and informed about the imaging procedure that is being performed.
  • Seek advice from the Radiology Supervisor or Radiologist on duty about any uncertainty or concerns with the medical imaging examination that has been requested.
  • Assume responsibility for patient safety to minimize unnecessary procedures and maintain patient exposure to ionizing radiation within accepted international levels.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications Systems (PACS).
  • Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Works on call, holiday, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the department.
  • Assess in radiology KPI’s.
  • Contributes to AH and radiology accreditation.
  • Adhere to AH and radiology policies
  • Produces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assigned.
  • Screens patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to the examination.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' post graduate experience.
  • Good in written and spoken English
